We ride in real mountains and on a real ocean. Conditions change, and we would rather set the expectation here than improvise it mid trip.
Weather, force
majeure & delays
Partial trail or activity closure
Localized weather or an unrideable section. We modify the itinerary, substituting equivalent trails or cultural activities of comparable value. The trip continues and no partial refunds apply.
Major destination interruption
A force majeure event makes an entire destination inaccessible. We provide an alternative safe route, or a travel credit valid for 12 to 18 months to reschedule. Cash refunds do not apply in these cases.
Flight delays on arrival
Your buffer night in Mexico City exists precisely for this. If a delay still occurs: for open groups we evaluate modifications with the group; for open groups the tour proceeds as scheduled and delayed riders arrange and cover their own transport to rejoin the itinerary. Missed days and activities are non recoverable.
Payment &
cancellation
Booking deposit: 50% via Stripe, non refundable.
Balance by wire transfer: due 30 or more days before departure. Unpaid reservations are automatically released.
Cancellation by the client: 60 or more days before Day 1, 100% of the balance refunded. Between 30 and 60 days, 50% of the balance refunded. Under 30 days or no show, no refund. Late arrival or early departure, no partial refund.
Insurance
Proof of active international travel insurance explicitly covering mountain biking and adventure sports, mountain rescue and medical evacuation must be submitted before Day 1. Participation cannot begin without it. This is the traveller's responsibility and is not provided by Solo Bike Trip.
